To celebrate The Cadets 85th Anniversary and generate financial support for a successful 2019 corps and the generations of Cadets yet to come, we are excited to announce the first-ever Cadets Alumni Decade Challenge as a part of the 2019 Maroon & Gold Membership Campaign.
Originally an idea inspired by recent Alumni of the corps, the young members wanted to challenge the other generations of Cadets to raise money and have fun in supporting the 154 young men and women who continue the tradition of the long maroon line that reaches back to Garfield and the Holy Name Church in 1934. Each decade of Cadets will be pitted against the other decades in a two week, “get-as-many-alumni-to-participate-as-possible” membership drive and help the corps reach the goal of 1,000 donors for the 2019 Campaign.
The best part is we are counting number of alumni participating whether they donate $10 or $10,000. If you’ve donated to the Cadets in the past, we’re asking you for the same commitment or more in 2019 for your donation to help the Cadets reach their goals. Visit decade.cadets.org to donate!
No other corps in the world can accept this Challenge, but with 85 years of proud alumni to support the Cadets of today and tomorrow we can make history and have the most successful fundraising campaign EVER!
Here’s how it works:
From May 28-June 10, every donation made by an alumnus or alumnae will count toward the 2019 Decade Challenge.
If you’ve already made a donation in 2019, that gift will count. (Please make sure your “Years Marched” is correct in the Alumni Database HERE)
If you haven’t made a gift yet this year, now is the time! Here are three simple steps to participate in The Alumni Decade Challenge:
1) Visit decade.cadets.org
2) Make your 2019 contribution to the Maroon & Gold Club
3) Be sure to complete the “Years Marched” field for your gift to count for YOUR decade
Note: If you marched in two decades, members must select which one you would like to count toward the Challenge.
After that, we ask you to reach out to as many members of the corps you marched in and have them take up the Challenge for this year’s corps. Email, Facebook, text - by any means necessary The Cadets need your support to hit the 2019 season stronger than ever before!
We will be posting the names of all donors in two places so you and fellow alumni can follow along. First, your decade will list participating members as donations are made and second, the Master List of 2019 donors will post all Alumni members in boldface as we count up toward our goal of 1,000 members on the 2019 Cadets Maroon & Gold Club.
